As if you couldn't guess, most of my fanfic has been inspired by Oded and his portrayal of the character, Ardeth Bay. Most of my stories revolve around "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns" and I gladly acknowledge that the characters of Rick and Evy O'Connell and Ardeth Bay belong to Stephen Sommers and Universal Studios. No infringement intended. All other characters belong to the author.
My first attempt at writing fanfic. [groans] The synopsis is an often used story line, ie Ardeth falls in love with a beautiful American woman who was on her way to Hamunaptra. My twist is that she blames him for the death of her brother.
I believe this was my second story, it seems so long ago when I wrote it. And newbie to the world of fanfic that I was, I decided to try something different. I wrote a story that doesn't have a happy ending and no, Ardeth doesn't get the girl. What I had hoped I had done by writing this was expand on the reality that not all tales end in happy endings.
Surprise - a new story that's currently in the process of being finished. Starring Ardeth, of course, and my warriors, this is an adventure that introduces a new but ancient enemy and explores the boundaries of brotherhood and friendship.
It's also centered around Nabil, so I thought to add that on for those of you who like him. LOL
Sequel to "When Heroes Fail" I wrote this in one afternoon and had to submit it, hoping to appease all those fans who were angry with me for the ending in the first story.
I had no idea that these stories would evolve in to my "Heroes" story line, thus generating sequel after sequel. As long as people want to read these adventures, then I shall gladly continue writing them.
Sequel to Heroes Redemption, I tried to interject some humor into the pending birth of Evy's baby, and how Rick and Ardeth handled it. Some complained that I made Rick sound too incompetant but most loved a few of my lines, especially the ones regarding Evy's water breaking.
I guess to sum up my first time travel story, I could use this partial quote from a friend and great fellow writer, Marxbros:
"I'm very impressed because you've taken what could be a simple fairy tale--woman gets stranded back in time and falls in love with Ardeth--and made it compelling and complex."
*blushes* All I did was dream about the Medjai living in an alternate realm and write about one woman who came face to face with Ardeth Bay. *shivers* Ohhhh to be that woman...
Inspired by a short story written by Marxbros, I experimented in writing the first person POV...and wondered what it would feel like to be the wife of Ardeth. as she waited for her warrior to return home.
Sequel to Have A Cigar, Ardeth, the commanders of the Twelve are disappearing, and Ardeth calls upon O'Connell for help in an adventure that could cost them their lives. I wanted to explore their relationship as friends and how, in my eyes, it evolved to them becoming so much more.
This is also the first story in which my original warriors appear.
